Colin was born in Liverpool and attended Liverpool Institute High School.
He served in the RAF from 1956-58(National Service) in Malaya being stationed in Singapore and reached the rank of Corporal.
Colin joined Liverpool City Police Force in 1962 where he served in both uniform and CID departments, mainly CID, Regional Crime Squad, Technical Support Unit, Special Branch. He retired in 1992 as a Detective Sergeant.
Colin is happily married to Ruth and has been a Conservative Councillor for Ditton Ward, Halton, Cheshire for three years.
Colin is heavily involved in charity work for SSAFA Forces Help and The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.
He is Vice Chairman of Ditton Primary School Governors and is also on the National Association of retired Police Officers Welfare Committee (Merseyside Branch)
